Singalila National Park:
Singalila National park is one of the most exotic Himalayan forest in India, is a National park of India located on the singalla range at an altitude of 7000ft to 12000 ft above sea level. In the Darjeeling District of West Bengal. It is well known for the trekking route to Sandakphu that runs through it. Singalila is one of the best place for the red Panda, Apart from this other mammals found here are: Himalayan Black bear, Clouded Leopord, Leopard Cat ,Serow, Barking deer ,Yellow throated marten, Wild Boar ,Pangolin ,Pika ,etc. Singalila is a birding paradise, More than 300 species of birds found here. It has a huge list of exotic birds like: Blood pheasant ,Satyr Trasopan ,Kalij Pheasant, Brown & Falvous Parrobills, Rufous-vented Tit and old world babbiers like the fire tailed Mayzornis and the golden breasted fulvetta, Rosefinchs, Bull finchs,Wren babbers, Laughing thrushes, Nuthatchs, Treecreapers,Yuhinas,Minivets,Patridges and many more. The Red Panda Ailurusfulgens are called the ‘firefox’ is a mammal native to Eastern Himalayas and Southwest china. It has Reddish brown fur a long shaggy tail and a wadding gait due to its shorter length of front legs . It is slightly larger than a big domestic Cat. It is arboreal, Feeds mainly on bamboos, but also eats eggs, birds & insects. It is a solitary animal mainly active from dusk to dawn and is largely sedentary during the day. Tour Program
Guests will be received at Bagdogra Airport and taken to their respective hotel in Darjeeling. In the afternoon we will have an optional Nature walk and orientation with the tour leader. Guests will have early dinner and overnight at hotel. Overnight with L & D
Today we will leave early morning for Manbhanjen, which is a entry point of Sangalila National park . We will carry packed breakfast for this 3 Hrs drive. After we reach Manebhanjen guests will transfer to a Vintage Land Rovers and start their ascent to Habre’s Nest our home for the next 6 Nights. The drive to habre’s nest is spectacular, and we will drive through rugged Eastern Himalayan landscape. We will reach Habre’s nest in time for Lunch. The Trackers would have already been out tracking since the morning and our red panda search will start from this afternoon. Overnight with B L & D
We will start our wildlife activity from Habre’s Nest, after breakfast at around 8am; Guests will go on different nature trails every day and explore different regions of the park looking for exotic Himalayan bird species and mammals. Trackers will leave early in search for Red Panda and will update us on sightseeing. If Red panda’s are seen then guests will be guided to the locations with our guides and porters to attempt to get a rare sighting. Guests can also do early morning birding in the in-house bird hide while sipping a hot cup of coffee. We will spend the full day searching for birds and Mammals. Overnight with B L & D
After an early morning breakfast we will take our Land Rovers down to Manebhanjen and subsequently to Bagdogra for onward travel connection. Overnight with B L & D
